Terra Drone Company, a number one drone and City Air Mobility (UAM) expertise firm headquartered in Japan, is happy to announce that its group firm and a worldwide chief in UAS Site visitors Administration (UTM) options, Unifly has efficiently led a technical validation and demonstration of built-in vertiport administration beneath the European joint challenge “EUREKA (hereinafter known as “the challenge”),” which goals to appreciate the societal implementation of next-generation air mobility.

In regards to the EUREKA Mission (Notice 1)

The challenge is a world joint initiative aimed toward establishing an air site visitors administration and information-sharing framework compliant with the U-space (Notice 2) regulation, and at creating operational requirements for vertiports in anticipation of the societal implementation of next-generation air mobility.

The challenge is led by the SESAR Joint Endeavor(Notice 3), a European collaborative analysis group, and includes participation from 35 corporations and establishments, together with AENA (Spain’s airport operator), ENAIRE (Spain’s air navigation service supplier), and EUROCONTROL (the European air site visitors administration group).

On the core of the challenge is the event and validation of a Vertiport Collaborative Site visitors Administration system  (VCTM)  (Notice 4). The VCTM system is designed to allow real-time sharing and coordination of operational data, equivalent to scheduled takeoffs and landings or emergency responses, amongst a number of stakeholders concerned in eVTOL operations.

Unifly is collaborating within the EUREKA challenge as a U-space service supplier (Notice 5), making use of its in depth experience in UTM techniques to the event and validation of the VCTM system.

Overview of the Demonstration

Date: July 21–22, 2025

Location: INDRA facility, Madrid, Spain

Goal: To judge the validity and scalability of the VCTM system beneath simulated real-time operational situations.

Seamless InteroperabilityAssess whether or not real-time and correct data sharing and coordination could be achieved through the VCTM system amongst related stakeholders, together with vertiport operators, U-space service suppliers, and customary data service suppliers.

Security and EfficiencyVerify whether or not the VCTM system can preserve secure and acceptable site visitors administration each throughout regular operations and in contingency situations equivalent to communication failures, emergency responses, or site visitors congestion.

Operator SupportEvaluate whether or not the VCTM system successfully helps operators in sustaining situational consciousness and making knowledgeable choices.

As a U-space service supplier, Unifly performed a task in real-time data integration and coordination between vertiport operators and customary data service suppliers. The corporate evaluated the effectiveness of the VCTM system from a technical perspective.

Efficiently demonstrated superior interoperability amongst vertiport operators, U-space service suppliers, and customary data service suppliers.

Confirmed the system’s stability and skill to keep up operations throughout communication failures, emergency conditions, and beneath high-traffic conditions.

Verified the effectiveness of the VCTM system in supporting knowledgeable and well timed decision-making by operators.

Remark from the CEO

Andres Van Swalm, CEO of Unifly acknowledged: As Revolutionary Aerial Mobility turns into a actuality, guaranteeing the secure and environment friendly integration of drones and air taxis into shared airspace is essential. This simulation highlights how collaboration and interoperability between techniques are key to constructing a scalable, trusted UTM infrastructure.

Future Outlook

This demonstration marked the fruits of the real-time simulation part inside the EUREKA challenge. The following step might be stay demonstrations performed in real-world operational environments. Unifly will proceed to play a task as a core expertise supplier within the air mobility infrastructure area, contributing to the societal implementation of next-generation air mobility.
