Abroad journey by Australians was up 20 per cent on the identical time final yr, with China seeing the strongest development for inbound journey at 11.6 per cent.

“Arrivals by British passport holders elevated 26.1 p.c, whereas Indonesia and Japan grew 12.9 p.c and seven.2 p.c respectively,” the airport stated in a press launch.

“The expansion in British arrivals mirrored the influence of the British and Irish Lions rugby tour and extra capability by way of the Center East and Europe, supported by new and expanded airline partnerships.”

Sydney Airport is presently within the midst of main upgrades to its terminals, with 11 of 15 new safety screening lanes now operational on the T1 worldwide terminal, in addition to two of seven on the T2 home terminal.
