Passengers caught on Cathay Pacific aircraft for 28 hours

When passengers boarded Cathay Pacific flight 883 from Los Angeles to Hong Kong on 4 August, they knew it was a protracted flight averaging 13.5 hours. What they didn’t know is that they might find yourself spending greater than twice that period of time onboard the plane earlier than the journey was over.

CX883 departed Los Angeles at 07:55 UTC on 4 August, making its approach west throughout the Pacific for 13 hours earlier than starting its method to Hong Kong. What makes this story uncommon is that the passengers of CX883 have been saved on the plane at a distant stand and never allowed to disembark. The plane parked on the distant stand on the north facet of the airfield at 23:32 UTC. Sooner or later, the aircraft was moved to a distinct distant stand on the south facet of the airfield. The airline has not publicly confirmed why passengers have been saved on the plane.
