Atlas Air Worldwide renews UAA partnership to strengthen Alaska’s aviation expertise pipeline

Outsourced plane and aviation working providers supplier, Atlas Air Worldwide, has reaffirmed its partnership with the College of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), extending scholarship assist and deepening collaboration on aviation workforce growth within the state.

At a ceremony at Merrill Area, leaders from Atlas Air Worldwide and UAA joined school and college students alongside US Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy.

“President Trump and I are on a mission to make our airspace the envy of the world. We’ll construct a brand-new air site visitors management system and handle a power scarcity of controllers and pilots,” stated Duffy. “President Trump’s One Large, Lovely Invoice delivered over $100 million into the Don Younger Alaska Aviation Security Initiative to deploy state-of-the-art expertise and prepare the following era of aviation expertise. I applaud Atlas Air Worldwide for doing their half to contribute to this mission.”

Anchorage’s function as a worldwide air cargo hub underpins the initiative, with Ted Stevens Anchorage Worldwide Airport ranked among the many world’s high 5 busiest cargo airports. Atlas Air Worldwide stated the renewed scholarship programme will proceed to assist college students offset schooling prices throughout pilot coaching and plane upkeep pathways, constructing on 2024 awards of 4 scholarships for upkeep technician college students and three for aspiring pilots.
