On October 30, 2025, All Nippon Airways (ANA) introduced it’s going to retire the AirJapan model, citing international enterprise challenges and a must streamline operations. Whereas AirJapan will retain its personal air operator certificates, its flights, workers, and plane will likely be absorbed into the ANA mainline, successfully ending its unbiased branding and business presence.

AirJapan was launched in 2022 as a hybrid, value-oriented worldwide service, designed to draw leisure vacationers from throughout Asia to Japan. It operated Boeing 787-8 plane on routes from Tokyo Narita (NRT) to Seoul-Incheon (ICN), Bangkok (BKK), and Singapore (SIN). These providers will likely be wound down by March 29, 2026, with ANA taking on the operational footprint. The model was ANA’s strategic response to Zipair Tokyo, the same low-cost long-haul idea launched by Japan Airways (JAL) in 2020.

The choice to discontinue AirJapan comes amid report monetary outcomes for ANA, together with ¥1.19 trillion ($7.9 billion) in working income and ¥97.6 billion ($634 million) in working revenue for the primary half of fiscal 2025. Regardless of sturdy worldwide visitors, ANA cited ongoing plane supply delays, B787 floor time points, and geopolitical instability—notably the battle in Ukraine—as components influencing its model consolidation.

ANA’s different subsidiary, Peach Aviation, which operates an all-Airbus narrowbody fleet targeted on home and short-haul leisure routes, will stay unaffected. The group’s broader technique contains increasing its worldwide community with new providers to Milan Malpensa (MXP), Stockholm Arlanda (ARN), and Istanbul (IST), whereas persevering with to combine Nippon Cargo Airways, acquired in August 2025.
