Aid at Gatwick as strikes referred to as off following pay supply

Managers at London Gatwick Airport (LGW/EGKK) shall be respiration a sigh of reduction after the Unite union referred to as off deliberate strikes for later this month by baggage screeners was referred to as off.

The union referred to as off the strikes after receiving a revised pay supply by ICTS, which employs the luggage screeners, who Unite says are among the many lowest-paid workers on the airport.

Unite will now poll members on the brand new pay supply, however warns that whether it is rejected, the 2nd strike deliberate for the top of August may nonetheless go forward.

Unite’s regional officer Ben Davis stated: “Following an improved supply from ICTS, Unite has suspended strikes to be able to poll its members.“

The deliberate industrial motion may have affected tons of of flights every day, inflicting delays, cancellations and distress for passengers seeking to get away for a late summer season vacation.
